BEADED ENAMEL JEWELRY (one adult and one teen 12+) with Hali MacLaren

Creative fun for you and your tween or teen! In this two day workshop, we will be exploring a few of the many ways to create enameled jewelry on copper. Enameling is the technique in which glass particles are fused to metal in a 1500 degree kiln in just a matter of minutes! This process is an ancient form of coloring ferrous and non-ferrous metals dating back to the Mycenaean Period. We will be going over basic enameling techniques such as sifting, wet packing and sgraffito, as well as simple beading components to create one of a kind little trinkets such as earrings, pendants, key chains and bookmarks. Tuition includes all supplies (copper jewelry shapes, enamels, beads, etc.) plus use of the school’s tools. Minimum four pairs. Tuition covers one adult and one child 12 and older. FALL SESSION October 17 and 24. Classes run Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm each night. $85 per pair (member), $100 per pair (non-member).
