Exploring Enamels (age 16+)with Hali MacLaren March 16

In this two session class, you will create a one of a kind Enameled Pendant, Pin or Earrings. Using traditional enameling techniques like sifting, wet packing, stenciling and sgraffito, you will choose from an assortment of colors and shapes to create your finished piece.
Enameling is the technique in which glass particles are fused to metal in a 1500 degree kiln in just a matter of minutes! This process is an ancient form of coloring ferrous and non-ferrous metals dating back to the Mycenaean Period.
Students will learn how to design their image with colored pencils prior to start, It may be helpful to bring some ideas with you!

Please wear sneakers or boots, tie back long hair and avoid loose fitting clothes in the studio. If you have your own safety glasses or face shield feel free to bring or use the studio’s. Tuition includes use of the school’s tools.

In Person Session – Runs Wednesday starting March 16 for 2 weeks from 6-9 pm both nights. $110 (member), $120 (non-member). Minimum of 3 students, maximum of 6. Enroll by March 9, 2022. Our classes require a minimum number of students in order to run. If that minimum has not been met one week before the scheduled start of the class, the class will be cancelled. So please register early to avoid disappointment!
