Enameled Seascape Charm (age 16+) with Hali MacLaren Aug 9


Class Overview:

In this one-day class, you will create a one-of-a-kind Enameled Pendant using traditional enameling techniques like sifting, wet packing, stenciling, and sgraffito, you will choose from an assortment of colors and shapes to create your finished piece. We will be creating ocean landscapes in this class since we all wish we were at the beach after all!

Enameling is the technique in which glass particles are fused to metal in a 1500 degree kiln in just a matter of minutes! This process is an ancient form of coloring ferrous and non-ferrous metals dating back to the Mycenaean Period.

Students will learn how to design their image with colored pencils prior to the start, It may be helpful to bring some ideas or inspiration images with you!

Please wear closed-toed shoes, tie back long hair, and do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewelry in the studio.

In Person Session Tuesday August 9 from 9:30am-12:30 pm . $65 (patron), $75 (non-patron). Minimum of 3 students, maximum of 6. Enroll by August 1, 2022. Our classes require a minimum number of students in order to run. If that minimum has not been met one week before the scheduled start of the class, the class will be cancelled. So please register early to avoid disappointment!
