Winter Daytime Beginner Jewelry with Hali MacLaren


This four-week course is designed as an intensive overview of common metalworking tools and techniques. The course will give students a basic knowledge of the material and its inherent properties, uses and artistic possibilities. Students will learn the basic techniques of sawing/filing, soldering, forming, and simple fabrication. Using sheet metal and wire we will make one pierced pendant and at least one ring. Please do not wear loose clothing or jewelry to class, tie back long hair and wear sneakers/boots. A $20 supply kit fee is payable to the instructor on the first day. The kit includes, drill bits, saw blades, sand paper, sheet metal and wire. Tuition includes use of the school’s other tools. Minimum 3 students, maximum 8. WINTER SESSION begins January 21. Class runs Thursdays from 10am-1pm for 4 weeks. $175 + supplies (member), $195 + supplies (non-member).
