In this one day workshop, we will be exploring a few of the many ways to create enameled jewelry on copper. Enameling is the technique in which glass particles are fused to metal in a 1500 degree kiln in just a matter of minutes! This process is an ancient form of coloring ferrous and non-ferrous metals dating back to the Mycenaean Period. We will be going over some basic enameling techniques such as sifting, stenciling, and sgraffito to create one of a kind little charms to create a pin, necklace or earrings.Tuition includes all supplies (copper jewelry shapes, enamels, etc.) plus use of the school’s tools. Minimum three students.
