Deena Ball is a Philadelphia Water Color Society Signature Member and Board Member/ President. In the first two hours students will learn about the medium, the history and the tools that watercolorists use. They will do a few quick exercises to get the hang of painting with watercolor. Each small exercise will be a painting in itself.  Topics will be wet on to wet painting, the ratio of paint to water, layering, value scale, and color mixing. Students will then paint a small still life.  During lunch students will be shown images of various contemporary watercolors. In the afternoon students will take a more exploratory and experimental approach to watercolor. They will try painting on Yupo paper, Strathmore plate bristol that has been textured, paint using  opaques and inks, watercolor crayons and resist techniques. All materials are provided and of professional quality. Each student pays a $25.00 supply fee directly to the instructor. Materials are for use in class, art work created goes home with the participant. Minimum 5 students. WINTER SPRING SESSION  Sunday, March 31. Class runs from 10am to 3pm, with a half hour lunch break. $125 + supply fee (member), $145 + supply fee (non-member).
