Digital Art Basics (adults and teens ages 16+) with Ari Ott Feb. 10
Please enroll by February 2, 2024.
Are you a beginner looking to get acquainted with digital art? This is a step-by-step class that will go over the basics of creating digital illustrations with guidelines such as photos, color swatches, and hands-on instruction. Whether you are completely new to digital drawing, or simply want to get more comfortable with it, this class will help you build your confidence with sketching, coloring, layering, and creating a composition with digital software.
This is a five-week beginner course. Each class will begin with a discussion of our favorite digital art pieces, followed by a series of exercises that will help build a foundation for students drawing digitally. Creativity is encouraged! The end of the course will have students creating their own digitally-drawn backgrounds to put on a laptop, tablet, or phone screen.
Basic tablets and styluses will be available to use during class. However, working with familiar equipment can be less daunting, so students are also encouraged to bring in their preferred drawing tablets, styluses, and any other such equipment. Please also bring a small notebook or sketchbook to help with note-taking.
Students are encouraged to bring along photos or images that express what they would like to draw. (Please ensure that the photograph is one you have permission to use)
In Person Session Begins February 10. Class runs Saturdays from 1-2:30pm for 5 weeks. $130. Minimum of 4 students, maximum of 8. Enroll by February 2, 2024. Our classes require a minimum number of students in order to run. If that minimum has not been met one week before the scheduled start of the class, the class will be cancelled.
