Teen Video Club
Students will work independently in developing powerful and meaningful videos. Students will use their phones and video cameras along with software for editing.
Students will learn:
- Theory of film, moving pictures to tell a story in 24 frames per second
- The different roles in movie making: writer, director, producer, gaffer, cinematographer, editor, etc.
- The different types of shots (close up, medium shot, two shot, long shot) and the reasons they flow together to tell a story.
- How to set up shots and learn about depth of view, and look of outward regard shots.
- Brief introduction into lighting for movies
- Brief introduction into editing techniques
- Viewing clips that use the film theory discussed. or that show the art of film (age depending)
- Brief history of movie making, from silent era to studio system to independent films to YouTube videos
This program runs 10 times, meeting once a month on Sundays. The first meeting will be April 14 from 11am-12:30pm. Future Sunday dates to be determined.
