An Art Full Retreat
June 8-9, 2024
Join us for a weekend of creativity! This two day retreat is set for Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9. ArtFusion 19464 will be your creative home for this private retreat. Our entire facility will be reserved just for you and your fellow retreat students. The maximum for this retreat is 12 students. Small classes mean personalized instruction as well as the opportunity to get to know your classmates.
We will start off your retreat with a wonderful breakfast on Saturday at our partner Three Daughters Inn B&B. (If you can’t make breakfast, just join us over at ArtFusion 19464 for your first class!) Saturday and Sunday will each consist of two classes. The retreat runs from 9am to 4pm each day. Lunch will be provided both days.
Guided by our talented instructors, you will create four projects over the course of two instructional days: a sterling silver intention ring, a small edition of prints made from a handcarved printing block, pottery thrown on the wheel and decorated with a sgraffito technique, and a mosaic birdhouse. No experience necessary! These projects are great for beginners while also allowing those with more experience a chance to expand their skills. Our instructors are all working artists who love to share their creative knowledge and skills.
See below for more details on each project. The $450 retreat cost includes all of your classes, supplies and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. (ArtFusion patrons will receive a 10% discount.) We will also have coffee, drinks and snacks to help fuel your creativity. Please click the register button for full payment details. If you do not live locally, your pottery project can be mailed to you.

Sterling Silver Intention Ring
Hali MacLaren, Jewelry
Hali will be your instructor for our sterling silver ring project. Learn stamping, soldering, forming, and finishing while creating your very own stamped ring of intention. You may choose any word or symbol, creating a hidden message on the inside of your ring. Or stamp the outside to share your intention with the world. Students will learn the basics of working with various jewelry tools and techniques. We will be using the torch, various hand tools, and machines in the studio.
Kayla Ackelson-Mannato, Printing
Kayla will be your instructor for our printing project. In this project, you will learn a brief history of printmaking, and the basics of cutting a linoleum block. Each student will have the opportunity to design, carve, and print a small edition of multi-color prints they will be able to take home. She will demonstrate the process and show lots of examples for inspiration.
Nikki Foreman, Pottery
Nikki will be your instructor for our pottery throwing project. Nikki will guide you on the pottery wheel, showing you the steps to creating with this iconic equipment. You will keep your two best pieces from your time on the wheel. Each piece will be decorated using sgraffito. Sgraffito is carving a design through a layer of slip or underglaze. Your completed pieces must dry and be fired. They will be available for pickup approximately 2 weeks from the retreat. (If you live out of town, your pieces can be shipped.)
Christie Edling, Mosaics
Christie will be your instructor for our mosaic birdhouse project. You will learn how to plan your mosaic, nip and cut your glass, and the proper techniques for adhering and grouting your design. You can choose to stain the wood or paint it in coordinating colors.
