An Art Full Retreat

September 15-17, 2023

Join us for a weekend of creativity! This two day retreat is set for Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, 2023. We will start off your retreat with a meet and greet reception on Friday, September 15 from 4-5pm. We will have wine, coffee, and appetizers, and to start off your creative weekend right, we will make a fused glass suncatcher. Saturday and Sunday will each consist of two classes and a catered lunch. Dinner Friday and Saturday are on your own. There are great restaurants to try downtown, and many more within a 5-10 minute drive.

ArtFusion 19464 will be your creative home for this private retreat. Our entire facility will be reserved just for you and your fellow retreat students. The maximum for this retreat is 10 students. Small classes mean personalized instruction as well as the opportunity to get to know your classmates.

Guided by our talented instructors, you will create four projects over the course of two instructional days: a mosaic mandala, an abstract acrylic painting, a natural flower dyed silk scarf, and a sterling silver stacking ring. No experience necessary! These projects are great for beginners while also allowing those with more experience a chance to expand their skills. Our instructors are all working artists who love to share their creative knowledge and skills.

See below for more details on each project. The $400 retreat cost includes all of your classes, supplies and a catered lunch on Saturday and Sunday. We will also have coffee, drinks and snacks to help fuel your creativity. Please click the register button for full payment details.

Accommodation for the weekend is extra. We have partnered with Three Daughters Inn for this event. Three Daughters is a beautiful Pottstown B&B, and will make your retreat truly a vacation (or staycation) to remember. See below for more details and a link to their website. Mosaic Mandala

Julie Tonnessen, Mosaics

Julie will be your instructor for our mosaic mandala project. Mandalas are repeating designs inside a circle and are found in many different cultures around the world. We will play with shape and color to create our own unique mandala designs. Get inspired by our collection of upcycled glass and ceramic tiles. You will also learn how to cut and shape the tiles using mosaic tools. Each mosaic will be grouted and mounted in a frame, ready to hang in your home.

Abstract Acrylic Painting

Kayla Ackelson-Mannato, Painting

Kayla will be your instructor for our acrylic painting project. This class will be all about color, texture and play. Create a one of a kind abstract art using a variety of different tools to create marks and patterns for the colorful underpainting. We will then intentionally paint overtop of the crazy colors to calm the chaos and end up with a unified piece. This final step will reveal curated peeks into the underpainting, giving a one-of-a-kind view into the process.

Natural Dyed Silk Scarf

Anne Aycock, Fiber Arts

Anne will be your instructor for our natural dyed silk scarf project. Learn about how plant dyes work on natural fabrics and make your own bundle dyed silk scarf to take home. Using a variety of flowers and plants you will bundle dye a pre-mordanted silk scarf. Each scarf will be unique to the dyer, based on the colors used and the patterns employed. After carefully placing the flowers on the scarf and then bundling them together, we will steam our scarves resulting in a beautiful hand dyed accessory. You will also learn about mordanting both cellulose and protein fibers and will be able to begin your own plant dye journey at home.
