ArtFusion offers free and reduced tuition scholarships for our regularly scheduled classes, depending on funding availability. We also offer several free programs throughout the year. Programs are for a specific class topic and are usually open to a particular student population, such as children ages 8-12, military veterans, etc. Programs are often funded by local businesses or organizations. Healing Arts Program
Our Healing Arts program is designed to give military veterans and those whose lives have been touched by cancer an chance to experience the healing power of the arts. The program offers general scholarships, when funds are available, as well as specific programs that are funded by local businesses and organizations. If you are interested in sponsoring a program, or donating towards our general Healing Arts scholarship fund, please contact Executive Director Erika Hornburg-Cooper.
Thanks to a generous donation from the SEI Cares foundation, we currently have 6 general scholarships available for veterans, and those whose lives have been touched by cancer (cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and family members). Parent Child Program
We are happy to announce a brand new free Healing Arts program just for parents and children (or grandparents and grandchildren, etc.). This program is for adult military veterans, or those of any age whose lives have been touched by cancer. In this fun 6 week class, one adult and one child ages 8 and up will work together to create cooperative pieces of art. The pairs will work in a variety of mediums, including clay, paint, glass and more. The first session of this class starts April 21. Class runs from 1-2:30pm for 6 weeks. Programs for Kids
Sponsored by The Greater Pottstown Foundation, these fun free classes offer students a chance to explore their creativity. For kids ages 8-12, Art Academy is a general arts exploration class where students work with many different mediums, and Clay Academy teaches students how to create with clay. Both programs begin June 29, 2018. Please see application for class times. Applications are due by June 1, 2018.
Please note: Spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis. We encourage everyone who is interested to apply. However those students who qualify for free or reduced lunch and those who have not attended a free program with us before will be given priority. We will accept applications until our deadline and then make a determination of who has been accepted into our programs.
Programs for Teens
Teens can choose from two programs sponsored by The Greater Pottstown Foundation. In Teen Clay Studio, students will learn how to work on the wheel and hand build with clay, working with the instructor to design and complete individual and cooperative projects. Teen Mixed Media Studio lets students explore many different mediums, learning from a talented roster of instructors. Please see application for dates and times. Applications for all programs are due by June 1, 2018.
