I’ve been a woodworker since I was 20. The singing of a saw, the grittiness of sandpaper, and the satisfaction of creating a work of beauty and function from raw materials are sensations simply unparalleled. Since then I’ve learned what ever I could from many masters of the trade to help expand upon my skillset. Carving has taken hold of me as a way to exercise my skills within my medium whilst still maintaining a small work space when unable to have the necessary room for larger tools. It has taught me patience and forgiveness of my mistakes, as both are required to complete any piece with this technique. I look to learn more as I teach and allow others the opportunity to explore a different approach to art and craftsmanship.
