Erika has been working in various mediums since attending high school in Greenwich Village. She has attended classes at Hofstra University, Lehman College, Ulster Community College and has taken classes at West Chester Art Association and the Anvil Studio. She has been teaching art classes at Brookeside Montessori for over 19 years, and at Creative Health for the past 8 years.
Erika started ArtFusion 19464 (formerly the Gallery School of Pottstown/Gallery on High) in 2004 at 254 E High Street. She focused on building an educational facility focusing on the visual arts – with more attention being placed on recognizing the student and their vision and style and helping them develop themselves and their muse through self-confidence. She also incorporates art history – placing a big emphasis on the French and German Impressionists.
Erika was presented with Exceptional Woman in the Arts award from the YWCA and was also recognized as Person of the Year from the Pottstown Rotary, received the Superintendent Award from Pottstown School District and the Afterschool Champion Award from Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool/Youth Development Network (PSAYDN).
Her instruction is built around building confidences and vision with her students. She enjoys creating impressionist style works in oils. Her impressionistic style mostly references the rural areas in Northern Germany where her family originated from and the Catskill Mountains (home). Erika teaches Creative Kids, Teen Studio, and hosts Artsphere.
Erika has raised four really cool kids (now adults) in the Pottstown area and has four amazing grandchildren!
