Julie Tonnessen, Instructor

I have been a “maker of things” ever since I was young. I create handcrafted jewelry and work in the fiber arts (knitting, crochet, felting). I have recently begun to focus in on recycled art, creating beautiful, useful and interesting things from items other have discarded or view as useless. I love helping my students–of all ages–to look at these objects with a new eye.

My ultimate goal in teaching is to help my students gain confidence in their own creative talents. I firmly believe everyone has a creative spark that just needs some encouragement to take tangible form. Above all I want my students to have fun!
